UltraViewer – Download

Free remote control software

UltraViewer is free software that enables remote support between two computers. Especially useful in development and IT scenarios, UltraViewer for Windows lets the client safely observe proceedings while IT goes about troubleshooting, all while maintaining the option to disable control at their discretion.

UltraViewer is a product of DucFabulous Research & Development Science Co, Ltd., and is a convenient and safe way to connect two computers, free of charge.

Direct IT support from anywhere

While remote control of a computer is useful in more ways than one, the main draw for downloading UltraViewer is for IT. Before remote tools like UltraViewer, when a computer suffered from a software glitch or malware, it would have to be taken to tech support manually. The process was slow, frustrating, and oftentimes expensive. Those days are thankfully gone:

Immediate remote assistance

UltraViewer is a faster and more convenient approach to technical assistance, eliminating the need for travel entirely, and minimizing the amount of time spent with a PC operating below capacity. The end-user sends an auto-generated ID and password to whomever to allow remote access. Once the issue resolves, the end-user can toggle off remote control by simply closing out of UltraViewer.

From the perspective of technicians from software companies, once your client sends you the ID and password displayed, UltraViewer will let you support your clients quickly and without the hassle of repeated queries and commands. No more having to screen-share and explain where to click, or no more sitting idle and asking the status of progress bars or download times. You’re in direct control of the computer in question, expediting the process and helping your client faster.

Direct chat and transfer files

Once you have control of your partner, you can press the default hotkey (F1) to chat with the client. This brings up a convenient chat window that lets you share links, answer quick questions, or even send and receive files to hasten the troubleshooting process. This direct communication while you work provides comforting visibility to your client while you root out anything that’s potentially malicious or contains unwanted bundled software or unnoticed bloatware.

Remote support made safe and free

Handing over control of your computer is unnerving even without third-party software like UltraViewer acting as the middle man. If you’re already skeptical about letting a technician access your files, it tracks so that the risk-aversive balk at the prospect of adding new software to a PC that’s already in dire straits. As such, security has been a huge component of UltraViewer’s design and marketing strategy.

First and foremost, others are able to control your computer only if you’ve shared your UltraViewer ID and password with them. A new ID and password are also randomly generated each time you use the program to further enhance security.

Newly generated login/info means that someone who once had control of your computer would not be able to do so again with the old code. Of course, the core function of UltraViewer is for remote access to be enabled while still allowing you to view the processes being done on your own screen. Since the host can view anything the controller does, UltraViewer intrinsically guarantees transparency.

With that said, when you register a new UltraViewer account, it will ask for personal information such as your name, email, phone, and language. The service will therefore use cookies to store this information on your browser. On their website, UltraViewer assures that even this (albeit minimal) personal information is never shared, sold, or otherwise commercialized to other parties.

On top of all that, the password you use when you register for UltraViewer is also securely encrypted. The service provides a one-way encryption layer so that it is unable to decrypt your password from their end. Beyond that, the strength of your password is up to you. As always, a strong length combined with varied characters and numbers will offer the strongest protection.

UltraViewer vs TeamViewer

UltraViewer is an excellent product for remote support, but it’s not the only one on the market. Options like AnyDesk, UltraVNC, and Ammy Admin are near-interchangeable products. Ultraviewer’s most popular competitor in this market is TeamViewer. TeamViewer provides the same function as UltraViewer, and is an equally elegant means of remote support. The main caveat with TeamViewer, however, is the price.

Despite what it says on their website, TeamViewer is not a free service – even if you’re just launching it for personal use. As you use it for longer periods (which is common, since a computer stricken with such issues often has repeat incidents), you will experience your usage detected and therefore suspected of (the non-free) commercial use.

Repeat users will start to get hit with a “purchase” blurb each time they connect to TeamViewer, and will eventually be forced into purchasing a license. TeamViewer is primarily a commercial software and, while it may surpass UltraViewer in some capacities, TeamViewer is commercially priced. That means it’s expensive. Considering that UltraViewer does the same thing for free, TeamViewer is not worth the investment if you’re just looking for personal use.

An elegant solution for Windows

Installing UltraViewer is quite simple. You need only download it and run the quick setup and install wizard as you would with any other software. To uninstall UltraViewer, you just go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs, and choose to uninstall UltraViewer. If you’re still hesitant to download UltraViewer for security reasons, there’s also another option.

A full download is recommended, but users can choose to download the portable zip file of UltraViewer, so the program runs without ever even downloading it. In this case, the file remains the same size but will be lacking certain features. These features are listed in the series of documents, tutorials, and other FAQ also offered for free directly on their website.

Remote computer control, free and easy

UltraViewer is a free, easy means for remote IT support (and other remote functions), compatible with Windows XP, Windows Server, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10.

To the detriment of the product, there is, unfortunately, no version currently compatible with macOS or Linux. While UltraViewer performs its function very well on Windows, this product is hit or miss for IT users; if their client is running a different OS, UltraViewer will not be of use at all.
